Dr. Steven Bongard
Dr Steven Bongard obtained his DDS degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 1986. His professional interest has been concentrated on all aspects of implant dentistry since 1995. He has extensive experience in implant placement, bone grafting procedures as well as the prosthetic component of implant restoration. He has published and lectured both nationally and internationally on implant placement, full arch rehabilitation and non-grafted immediate approaches to implant surgery. He presently maintains a dental practice in Toronto, Ontario that is exclusive to the placement and restoration of dental implants. His recent focus has been on developing a community resource and training centre that can provide access to innovation, technology and advanced infrastructure, as well as support and mentoring, to the dental implant community.
Dr. John Zarb
Dr. John P. Zarb earned his DDS at the University of Detroit Mercy in 1995. Upon graduation, he completed a one year General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI, followed by graduate prosthodontic training at the University of Toronto, earning his MSc in 2002. Dr. Zarb is a staff prosthodontist in the Graduate Prosthodontic Department at the University of Toronto and at Mt Sinai Hospital in Toronto, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester, Eastman Institute for Oral Health. He has been involved with surgical and prosthetic implant dentistry education at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Dr. Zarb joined Barrie Prosthodontics in 2003. He is a Fellow and examiner of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a Fellow in the Academy of Dentistry International, and Fellow in the Academy of Prosthodontics and a former Director of the American College of Prosthodontists.
Dr. Phil walton
Dr. Philip Walton earned his DDS degree from the University of Toronto. He completed externships at the University of Michigan and overseas at King’s College London School of Medicine and Dentistry in London, England and completed his Masters of Medical Sciences degree in Periodontology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Walton is a Fellow of the Royal College of Canada. He is a member of the surgical team at Chrysalis Dental Centres in Toronto where he has been focusing on the placement and immediate loading of dental implants as well as enhancing techniques for the development and maintenance of predictable soft tissue results in relation to dental implant placement and restoration. Dr. Walton is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry at University of Toronto, where he participates in the clinical and didactic training of undergraduate dental students. He also continues to maintain a strong affiliation to Harvard as a past clinical instructor, admissions committee member and active alumnus.
Mr. Paul sims
Mr. Paul Sims graduated as a Registered Nurse from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology-Nursing Division in 1982 and immediately began working at North York General Hospital on the Adolescent Surgery and Pediatric Isolation ward. He then transferred to the Emergency Department a year later where he worked in all aspects of the department. In 1985, Paul joined the practice of a Toronto based Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon where he was responsible for both the Clinical and Business aspects of the practice for 28 years. Since July of 2013 Paul has been a Sedation Assistant for Chrysalis Dental Centres in Toronto. Paul has been an active volunteer member of the St. John Ambulance since 1974 and is currently a Commander in the Order of St. John. He has volunteered at almost every level and has held almost every leadership role in the organisation. His current duty at St. John Ambulance is Chair of the Ontario Medical First Responder Competition Committee.
Ms. Suzie Maxwell
Ms. Maxwell graduated from the George Brown College Denturist program in 2002. She worked in private practice for four years before joining Chrysalis Dental Centres where she is now the head denturist. Suzie has been able to focus almost exclusively on the All-on-4® treatment and has participated in thousands of cases. She has extensive knowledge both on the clinical and laboratory side and is one of the profession’s most experienced clinicians on the conversion and restoration of the All-on-4® treatment concept.
Dr. Jack Zosky
Dr. Jack Zosky graduated from the University of Toronto and received specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Northwestern University. He is a Fellow of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantology and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Zosky has authored several implant related articles and a chapter in the W. B. Saunders textbook “Endosseous Implants in the Maxillofacial Reconstruction.” He has lectured in North America and abroad. He is past president of the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, past President of the Academy of Osseointegration Foundation and has Fellowship status in the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Zosky is a consulting surgical staff at Trillium Health Sciences Centre and served as an Associate in Dentistry, University of Toronto for many years where he taught in the Implant Prosthodontic/Surgical Unit.
Dr. Gersana Segal
Dr. Gersana Segal received her DDS degree from the University of Toronto in 2001 after receiving a Combined Honours BSc in chemistry and biology from York University. She has published research in chemistry, medical biology and periodontology. Dr. Segal also completed a general practice residency at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina with an emphasis on surgery and anaesthesia. Dr. Segal became a member of the Chrysalis surgical team in 2007. She has extensive surgical and prosthetic experience in full arch rehabilitation of the dentate and edentulous patients, and with implant placement in the aesthetic zone. Dr. Segal helped establish and continuously evolve the surgical and prosthetic protocols at Chrysalis Dental Centres.
Dr. Marc Bongard
Dr. Marc Bongard received his DMD degree from Boston University and then went on to do a post-graduate residency program in dental anesthesiology at NYU-Lutheran Hospital, a level 1 trauma center in Brooklyn, New York. He is a recognized specialist in Dental Anesthesiology by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Dental Anesthesiology. Dr. Bongard is an associate clinical professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in the Anesthesia Department. His training included extensive experience providing anesthesia for pediatric, special needs, and medically compromised patients. He has provided general anesthesia and moderate sedation for thousands of patients undergoing restorative and dental implant procedures.
Mr. Terry xie
Mr. Terry Xie graduated from George Brown Dental Technology program in 2011. After graduation, he held positions at two dental laboratories in Toronto working in Crown and Bridge, Dentures, Ceramics and Quality Control. He joined Chrysalis Dental Centres in 2013, as part of the All-on-4 team, completing over 200 All-on-4 cases, and is now the manager of the in-house laboratory. Terry has extensive knowledge of the All-on-4 Treatment Concept, Ceramic Implant Restorations and CAD/CAM design.
Dr. Manor Haas
Dr. Manor Haas graduated from the University of Toronto with numerous awards and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After practicing general dentistry for a number of years, he pursued advanced training in endodontics and micro-surgery at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There he obtained his specialty certificate in Endodontics. With a Masters Degree in dentistry and as a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, Dr. Haas holds staff teaching positions at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics. At the university, he is a lecturer and clinic instructor in the department of Graduate and Undergraduate Endodontics. With his hospital staff position, Dr. Haas provides direct patient care along with specialized training in Paediatric Endodontics to the Paediatric Hospital Residents and Graduate Paediatric Residents.
Dr. David Powell
Dr. Powell received his DDM degree from McGill University in 2011 and then completed a General Practice Residency at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. After practicing as a general dentist at the same hospital for a year, he pursued his Prosthodontics speciality training and Masters of Sciences at the University of Toronto. He currently practices at Barrie Dental Specialists and is a member of the restorative team at Chrysalis Dental Centres. He is also a lecturer and assistant professor of Prosthodontics at University of Toronto and a staff Prosthodontist at Mount Sinai Hospital. In addition, he is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, member of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada and member of the American College of Prosthodontists.
Ms. Michelle Ryckman
Ms. Michelle Ryckman has extensive experience in consulting with patients regarding high-end dental implant treatment. Her approach is simple, no-pressure, comfortable and has proven to yield incredibly high case acceptance. It focuses on communicating with patients and building structured relationships. Ms. Ryckman has lectured extensively throughout North America and Europe on her common sense “team” approach that focuses on understanding patients, from a unique “outside” of dentistry perspective. Ms. Ryckman is currently responsible for the development and implementation of the “new patient journey” and consultations with potential implant patients every day in a large thriving dental implant practice.
Ms. Flora Santos
Flora Santos is a NDAEB certified level II dental assistant with over 24 years of chairside experience. She has focused her career on dento-alveolar surgery and has assisted in more than ten thousand implant surgeries. She is now the Clinical Coordinator at Chrysalis Dental Centres, responsible for staff training, implant and prosthetic inventories and all aspects of asceptic surgical techniques. She has unparalleled experience in implant placement protocols and components as well as the complete armamentarium, including graft materials, necessary for successful implementation of the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant care.
